This video talks about what education might look like in 2025.
Things to think about…
There are technologies that didn’t exist even just a year ago. Students are growing up with these technologies and use them as second nature. Do we need to look differently at the way we approach our lessons?
National Geographic Kids is a fun and educational site featuring games, activities, animals, photos, videos, stories and much more This site is great for both students and teachers.
The site is full of content that is both educational and fun. Highly recommended!
There are biographies of musicians, over 100,000 scores, links to websites, information on copyright, over 100,000 sound recordings, videos, archives, pictures and more.
This is site would be suitable for music teachers, students and anyone interested in Australian music.
Here is a cool tool that can be used for Book Week – BuiLD YouR WiLD SeLF. This fun online tool allows you to design your human self and then add your animal parts which ties in great with Book Safari our theme for 2009.
After the students have created their character they can be printed out. The site also gives a run down of what animal features have been used to describe the created character. There are also links to Zoos and Aqauriums in New York.
Smartboards and laptops might be all the buzz in Australian schools, but both teachers and governments get too hung up on these tools of technology, and sometimes overlook their purpose.
That’s the view of Marco Torres, a technology and innovation educator. He has been visting Australia, talking to school students and teachers and to the minister for education, Julia Gillard.
A former high school teacher from Los Angeles, Marco Torres is on President Barack Obama’s technology in education advisory committee.
Increasingly, DET NSW is moving the Teaching and Learning Exchange (TaLE) resources onto the internet, making them accessible by more teachers.
A list of available resources is available at: http://www.tale.edu.au – click on Parents and Community.
Some of the materials are outstanding, and would be very useful for Teacher Librarians and for our teachers. The Search facility is very easy to navigate: so have a look and if you find the resources to be high quality, help the teachers with whom you work to use them as well.
There are some terrific resources on this site but one that I found a fantastic site that has many great ideas and valuable links. Here is one that would benefit teachers, students and parents. Click is a Technology Guide for Parents with information including A-Z Technology, Cyber-safety, Guides for using Social Networking Sites, Podcasts about topical issues and much more.

Welcome to our Blooksurf Blog. This space has been set up for our customers to share ideas on how they can use Web 2.0 tools in their library and in their school. We hope that it inspires you to think about how you can use some of the tools in your school.
We will be adding posts about Web 2.0 tools so that we can all learn from each other and develop and evolve how we use these tools in learning and teaching.
We also hope to let you know about new titles about which our customers can make comments. We hope that this will be helpful when purchasing titles for your libraries.

I'm enjoying looking at your blog. Last week's information on the Flip video was very interesting and the Librarian's Song was great.
Keep up the good work!
